the noah arc

How cool would this be? Of course, this city is notorious for pipedreams, but still...

"Gizmodo writes: 'NOAH (New Orleans Arcology Habitat) is a massive, 1200-foot city within a building that's hurricane-proof and can actually float (don't worry, it's tethered to something or other). Conceptualized through a mind trust of three architectural firms, green (wind, solar and water) energies would help power the structure's 20,000 residences, 1,000,000 square feet of commercial space, school, hospital and, just for fun, 3 casinos.'"

Yeah, and people were going to commute on the gondola from the World's Fair, too.

I got sucked off once in the parking lot at the foot of Iberville where this thing is going to be docked. Ah, memories. And I prefer to hope that it would not be anchored, but rather float off downriver and wind up blamming into Algiers. Or maybe Violet.

Quite interesting for sure but it doesn't leave me with a home-sweet-home feeling - maybe if I was one of the Jetsons.

Cheers

The horror! The horror! If this is the future, I'm just going to live it up now and the future be damned.

Architects should be spanked publicly, frequently.

Oh Kim, I somehow think there's nothing to worry about. If that thing is ever built it'd be a miracle. Heck, if they ever fix a pot hole around here it'd be a miracle.
