ROMEO + JULIET and SPELLBOUND Star Rachel Zegler in Michael Kors Collection
on LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS

It occurs to us that perhaps we have let down the younger generation of
ladystars. We spent years talking about what constitutes a poor choice for
a talk...

redneck riveria
This weekend, I'll be visiting the lovely Alabama gulf coast. I'll be going with
Interstital Matters, The Marshall Chronicles, Monkeyshines, Always the Hours and Brandon (who doesn't have a blog).
We'd all stayed in Destin a few years in the past, and had planned another trip a few years ago, but the hurricane just before Katrina (who can even remember her name now?) destroyed the condo we were going to rent. So it's been a few years since we've all gone together.
I'm looking forward to it, even if I've heard conflicting reports. I've never been to the Alabama coast, only through it.
My hairdresser, the Vietnamese Victorian Beckham herself, a tough customer when it comes to luxury, tells me that she was "surprised" at how "nice" it was out there.
Not sure what either of those terms meant to her, but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt.
A friend of a friend, however, recently told me (without knowing I was planning to go) that it was "nice enough" but that "I wouldn't want to meet some of the
crackers I saw out there in a dark alley." (I paraphrase)
Either way, it promises to be fun.
Outlet malls, confederate flags, jellyfish maybe even Flora-Bama. How could it not be?
I'm bringing the rum just in case.

have a blast mister! just was in that area for the fourth- them rednecks are something else!! florabama- very bad hehe- dangerous joint!
I enjoyed the little photo game. Redneck + Riviera = Redneck Riviera.
Fun!
Ivan Did Destin.
I was just at the RR for a day while visiting my sister in Pensacola. Orange Beach left me feeling a bit Dian Fossey. One of the less charming behaviors I observed time and again: using the beach as a convenient ashtray.
But it's pretty... drove through there some time back. Y'all have fun now.
Be careful of them crackers they can be dangerous. Have a lovely time, I'll be out there next weekend.
Make sure you wear sunscreen. Don't want your pasty self to get burned!! :)
Please post pictures! I need to know what to expect when we make it down there sometime. It can't be any more cracker-packed than my home state's Jersey shore, can it?
I love your use of quotation marks in this post. Like a Zagat guide to redneck paradise. Hope y'all are having a great time.
There's nothing like a getaway to a cheesy beach town with a bunch of freinds that says vacation in the US! Sounds like a blast...and you'll look so fetching with that blond flip and pink scarf.
Post photos, please. :) And have a blast!
@colleen:
The Alabama gulf coast is nicer than the Jersey Shore. I've been to both ten plus times in my life (to each one.) The gulf is nice because the water is warmer and there are less people. Also we saw dolphins from the beach many times.
as long as you work an ascot and a french sailor shirt (like Mr. Grant in the still you posted here), you'll be just fine.
Sounds nice and if the photo is an indication, looks nice. Have fun. Pack your sunscreen and some cheese for the crackers!
