"1 2 3 4 5 6 9 and 10"
(Feist's "1234" being played overhead)
"Did you hear that?"
Woman tells an older man indignantly...in a thick westbank accent.
"Wha?"
"Dat..dat song....'1 2 3 4 5 6 9 10,'" she continues. "Children gonna hear dat and learn dat wrong."
"Yeah."
The old man agrees laughing.
"Ain't no wonder dey so dumb nowdays, huh?"

stick...

They were playing this in biglots? They have a sound system in biglots? How very upscale.
I'll bet it was playing on one of them thar $5.99 transistor radios over on aisle 6B.
Oh lordy, don' get me started!
BTW, I thought of you the other night. A friend and I watched "The Beals of Grey Gardens"! My friend had seen the musical in New York, and I have seen parts of both docs, but never the whole thing. It sorta leaves one dumbfounded.
Yes, It's all the fault of Feist.
Thom...it takes repeated viewings before the dumbfoundedness leaves....not that that's a bad thing.
When you start hearing the Edies in your head...then you know everything will be all right.
"You have to think these things up...."
i think people will also get the spelling of fergilicious wrong after fergie sings it D-to-the-E-to-L-I-C-I-O-U-S.
You had me at "Biglots."
So many wonderful things for under $5 bucks. My mom sent me a canister set from Biglots. It was hand-painted and made in "It-lay" according to my mom.
Ah...Michael,
It-lay is a wonderful place., no?
Almost as wonderful as He-lay
