Canal Street. It's a prettier building than this photo shows. It's been abandoned for a while now. It used to be a car dealership (?) I believe, in the 1960s.
There are a number these deco houses around. Living there, I think, would be like living on a ocean liner....complete with water line.

If I lived near the Blue Plate Mayo place I'd stand there every day with my fold-over heel, letting the mayo ooze out of the corners of my mouth watching the $8.24/hourly wage workers troup in and out. And I'd have a shopping cart full of...you guessed it...day old heels.

Certainly City hall is not.I saw on WWL TV a week ago that the Historical Society wants to preserve the City Hall.
