Musical Monday: WHITE CHRISTMAS
-
Darlings, it’s time once again for our annual Christmas tradition (now in
its 18th year, if you can believe it), the perennial “White Christmas,”
done up...

Julia and Jason
That would be a better title, but, alas, it's not. I keep seeing this trailer at every film I've been to, and I can't help but be excited.
I'm a bit dubious about this whole "Julie" part...looks kind of stupid...and the fact that Nora Ephron is notorious for ruining a good thing in my book....but I don't care.
I can't wait!
The thrill of seeing Meryl playing Julia (I might combust from the excitement of seeing those two as one, but it's a risk I'm willing to take) is more than enough to carry me through.
Plus, Stanley Tucci too? mmmmm...bon appetit indeed.

I spontaneously combusted at the mere thought of Meryl playing Julia ... leaving nothing but a green globule where there was once a blogger.
Yet I carry on and so will you.
We would like to suggest that Jason dress in Julia drag to the premiere and present photographic evidence here on his blog.
Dear green globule,
I'll see what I can do.
ZOMG, Meryl and Stanley, yes, but also Amy Adams (love her...have you seen Sunshine Cleaning?), and Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe!), AND whoever the cute boyfriend is. I was peripherally aware of this movie, but now I'm on the edge of goo myself.
Perhaps if the Julie storyline is too drecky, some kind, inventive soul will recut the picture so that it's just a nice 40 or so minute short called Julia.
If nothing else, it would have to better than the Jane Fonda picture of the same name (which, come to think of it, was also a Streep picture, early-days division).
Looks so good. Meryl Streep is a goddess.
Ditto what Miss Janey said! And, like JC (Julia Child, not Jesus Christ!), utterly fearless! Yay!
I'd go see it.
I've been half-heartedly meaning to read this book and this trailer may be the motivation I need.
Also it was bothering me recognizing Julie's boyfriend/husband but not knowing from what. He was in Vicky Christina Barcelona and Six Feet Under, if anyone else was wondering.
