So.

Three years ago today, I lost my home, my job, my salary, my workplace, and everything I owned.

Though I was luckier than some...like the ones I knew who died.

Anyway, let's just hope this go round is better.

Oh, honey, I was thinking of you when I heard it was going to hit New Orleans. Good luck. The 5% of me that's Native American will get in touch with the weather gods and have them keep the levees and all of you safe.

If you haven't yet visited this online comic, it just finished today:

It's a really interesting anecdotal history of Katrina.

I didn't know you then, and this post had me sifting back through your archives to read 2005. I shouldn't be floored by what I read, but I am. I'm embarrassed for me, and admiring of you.

With you hoping things go better.

Best of luck, caro - and be very, very safe.

I'm assuming you have many better and closer places to evacuate to, but I just wanted to let you know that we have a spare room here in Pittsburgh, and you're welcome to it. Really, I mean it.

Sweetie, the most encouraging thing is the hurricane experts drawing a straight line for its path to the middle of Louisiana. You know how rarely they go in a straight line and how rarely the hurricane guys are right. Good luck honey, I'l keep an eye on you and ya momma too.

Agree.

Jason, Miss J didn't know Katrina hit you to that extent. She hopes that never happens again.
