Lucky you. Until I was about 16 I had bunk beds with wagon wheel headboards and cattle brands on the chest and dresser. Plaid bedspreads to accent the decor; for some reason it seemed wrong for me.

I had the same Sears faux brass headboard. It made a lot of noise.
Your use of the accent color on the wall with the bed is very prescient.
