yipee!
(But it's not completely unexpected.)
There's tornadic activity out in the East, and I suppose tornadoes and half-built poorly constructed portable buildings don't go together.
Thankfully someone was using her head this morning. It's not safe out there on a normal day, let alone one like today.
Since Katrina we've had an unusual number of tornadoes around here...one of which killed someone earlier this year, right near there.
It's still pretty nasty out there, but I think I'm going to take my lonesome to a matinee...perhaps Elizabeth: The Golden Age.
I loved the first one, way back when. I even showed it to my class last year (quite unethically...or something)...but who cares, they loved it. Upon rewatching it, however, I realized its weaknesses.
And I hear this one is not very good...but again, who cares, it's all about the costumes for me.
I'll see anything with a costume.
I can't wait to see Cate in white face. That's worth the ticket price right there.
And don't get me wrong, Clive Owen is sex on a stick, but I'd like to see Joseph Fiennes again. I wish he were in it.
I have a feeling he's probably batshit crazy, but there's just something about him that I can't resist. (gratuitous photo here)

I must be missing something. Why was it unethical to show that to your students?
Sweetie
Congrats on the day off, god knows you deserve it. And special thanks for the Joe Fiennes shot. To quote the New York Times review "a doe eyed dreamboat."
oh, I think it was rated R or something. I could be fired for that.
clive is sexy and all - but he shoulda popped up in the US about ten years earlier - now he just getting old, and not in the sexy salt-and-pepper way.
Don't get me started on Joseph Fiennes. He gives me palpitations.
A couple of years ago, I was on a three-month shoot with Mr. Fiennes. He is, I have to say, an anomaly in an industry that routinely employs monsters and rewards bad behavior.
Hard-working and respectful of everyone, Joe Fiennes is a gentle-hearted man whose sweetness seems absolutely core. I sorta think everyone had a crush on him. How could you not?!
One night during wrap, I overheard two of our big, macho carpenters talking. One turned to the other and said, "I think in my next life, I wanna come back as Joe." Nodding matter-of-factly, the other said, "Yeah."
Well, Anonymous, you've just made my day...it's lovely to here that he seems like a good soul after all.
I think I will be dreaming (again) about Joseph Fiennes.
